Committee meeting on April 9

Posted on Apr 4 2018 - 10:01pm
Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.
Our next Committee Meeting is scheduled Monday, 9 April in St. Stephen's Hall immediately following the Troop's Flag Ceremony.  As the Troop welcomes our newest Scouts, we welcome our new parents as well!
I've attached notes from last month's Committee Meeting for everyone's awareness, but wanted to draw your attention to several events that are being planned for the next few months:
April: Assimilation Campout
May: Canoeing Campout
June: Twp events; Sea Base in Florida and one other event (time/date is TBD)
July: Goshen
August: Camping at Assateague Island National Seashore
The PLCs next planning meeting occurs in August and we plan to provide them with a menu of weekend and one-day trips that the Troop might consider, and that can be fully supported by parents that include cycling the C&O Canal, hiking in the Shenandoah, fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, shotgun shooting, deep sea fishing, spelunking, visits to historical/civil war sites.
If you plan on driving your son to next week's Troop Meeting, please plan on attending the Committee Meeting.  We'd be interested on getting your feedback, specifically:
-How can we improve the way we communicate to parents and scouts?
-Are you satisfied with the Troop’s near/long-range planning efforts?  Are you satisfied with how this information is being conveyed?
-What events are your scouts interested in doing?
Thanks, and see you next week.

Committee Meeting on Monday, March 12

As many of you know, Rob Hood turned over his Committee Chairmanship last month.  I’ve volunteered to take his place and will continue to help set policy, assist Dan Scheeler and the scouts with outdoor programming/planned activities, as well as the general business of the troop.

Confirm that you will be continuing in Troop 301 in 2021, and 2021 dues
