Upcoming Troop Hikes - March 1 and 14

Posted on Feb 23 2020 - 10:14pm
"Men Not Mice" Hike (Sun 1 March): Everyone knows that the CAT loves to eat mice, so the Scouts will prepare for the CAT-40 with an 18-mile shakedown hike along the beautiful Bull Run Occoquan Trail.  Scouts will learn how to purify water on the trail. Scouts should bring 2 liters of water, snacks and a brown bag lunch in a daypack, and dress in layers for cold weather.  Meet at St. Mary's School at 6:45AM.  Wanted: parents who can help with drop-off or pick-up of our Scouts for this point-to-point hike.  Please RSVP for your Scout (parents are welcome too) at this link.  Please email Matt O'Brien (va.mobrien@gmail.com) if you can help with driving to the drop-off or pick-up locations.

Update on July 8 Meeting

Posted on Jul 8 2019 - 5:11pm

I've been by Fort Hunt this afternoon - the roads are clear, but the ground is saturated - enough to be problematic for our planned program.

After consulting with the Senior Patrol Leader, we've decided to have the Camp Somers preparation meeting (originally scheduled for 8 tonight) at 7 p.m. in pavilion A of Fort Hunt.

In addition to Scouts, parents of Scouts attending summer camp should plan to attend. Time permitting, Scouts will begin working on some of the activities planned for the July 15 meeting (Troop cheer, camp gate planning, etc.)

Tonight's program will be rescheduled for a later date.

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Scheeler
